This was our largest project to date, in terms of number of murals to be painted. This was a newly renovated school whose scope of service included 50 painted murals. While we have completed projects totaling several thousand square feet of mural space, this project totaled 1,760 square feet. Each column we painted posed its unique challenge. Text was painted on porous concrete bricks with lettering outlines that were just under 1/8″ thick. Accomplishing very clean lettering outlines on that type of surface requires extreme attention to detail.
Of the 50 murals, 38 were columns throughout the school where backgrounds with claw marks and text had to be painted on multiple sides of each column. The remaining 12 murals were individual large murals in the gymnasium and throughout the school. This entire project took approximately 6 weeks to prepare for and an additional 6 weeks to paint. The total duration was broken up into 2 timelines. The first half was completed in October of 2020 and the remaining was completed in September of 2021.
As you view the gallery within this schools’ post, it will be evident that we have only included 1 or 2 photos of more than several identical columns that were painted.
