Inside of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, this was a new location for Day & Night, a sophisticated apparel store. Our creation took place simultaneously with construction within the store to accommodate the Day & Night business. The image originated through interior design.
In this project, we were to create a large-scale mural of an attractive young lady in attractive attire on an exterior store wall within the hotel which had substantial exposure. The image symbolizes day to the young lady’s front and nightfall to her back. The surface is masonry, and we used solely two different shades of gold as color. One of our challenges was the use of hundreds of thin stencil strands in order to depict long, beautifully-tinted hair. Equally as challenging was having to create this mural with an adjacent temporary wall erected just 4 feet from the masonry wall.
As is typical in construction projects, our coordination was with the General Contractor to ensure timely progression. A painted image is ideal for a masonry surface such as this—it will not peel, cannot be visually distorted by reflective light, and is intended as a long-term visual. Our image successfully attracts desired attention for Day & Night as a business. We’re delighted to have been a part of this project.
