Maxwell’s Meat Market was a newly-opened meat processing business west of Houston, Texas seeking to advertise and brand its existence from both directions along the busy highway fronting the location. Paint is the only medium that would accommodate the images sought by the owner as the corrugated metal exterior surface greatly challenges our stenciling process. Detailed preparatory work was needed in order to mold and closely adhere our stencils to the protrusions, depressions and ribs throughout the metal surface, and to minimize paint bleed beneath image borders. Our effort worked well as paint clean-up following the airbrush process was minimized. As is typical, we provided the owners exactly what they sought—inviting attention to the business from afar.
Several months after the initial request to paint signage on the building as well as on the street sign, the customer requested that we paint a cow mural on 3 panels of plywood as an exterior sign that the customer would affix to the building. The customer provided the artwork for this final mural.
